Benign prostate hyperplasia is a syndrome that is related to the prostate male glands. After the man reaches the middle age, the prostate becomes enlarged, this condition is called benign prostate hyperplasia. In this case, the prostate glands undergo the growth of two spurts. This enlargement generally don’t cause problem for men till they reach the age of 75. The benign growth occurs when the old cells continue to grow, this accumulation of cells thickens the prostate areas which then narrows the urethra which then creates an obstacle during urination.
Symptoms that are associated with this type of cell growth include, difficulty in initiating urine stream, interrupted and weak urine stream, urgency, leaking or dribbling of the urine, blood in urine etc. This condition thickens the bladder wall making the passage narrow. This change can cause frequent urination, bladder irritability, strong urge of urinating (especially in nights) etc. This type of prostate abnormality can lead to various complications like impotence, urinary incontinence, bleeding and in severe cases even mortality. There are numerous treatment options that are available for the invasion of BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia). In severe cases doctors may go for surgery, in order to reduce the risks of developing future complications. Whereas, if the case is not so severe; medications can work best.
