Balanitis

Balantis is a broader term that includes inflammation of skin, head and glans of the penis. It is a common syndrome in uncircumcised men. Diabetics have got greater risks of getting such type of penile inflammations. Balantis is not a sexually transmitted disease, it is generally the result of overgrowth of organisms which exist on the skin of glands.

Causes of Balanitis:
The causes of getting triggered by Balanitis majorly depend on the cleanliness and hygiene factors. Poor or unhygienic foreskin, irritations from the use of condoms, spermicides or clothing, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and yeast and bacterial infections. The basic aim is to keep the pubic and penile areas clean.

Symptoms of Balanitis:
The symptoms of Balanitis will occur after 3 to 7 days when it is developed. The basic and most common symptoms include discharge from penis and red and itchy penile top part. Balanitis can be treated, the treatment largely depends on the cause. Doctors may prescribe you with the cream that can soothe the inflammation. It the occurrence of balanitis is due to bacterial infections, doctors may prescribe antibiotics that can reduce the impact. But prevention is always better than cure; hence focusing more on the hygiene factors can help you avoid the risks of getting Balanitis.
